Melissa Patterson, MA, LPCC, LADC, LSC, is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor specializing in helping youth and adults find hope and peace through life’s challenges. She is a Licensed School Counselor with over 15 years helping youth from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade cope with difficult transition periods. Transitions in life are a very vulnerable time where people can struggle or get stuck. Melissa works to develop a deep relationship with individuals to guide them towards growth and fulfillment.
As a Licensed Professional Alcohol and Drug Counselor, she has extensive experience working with the prevention and treatment of addictions for youth and adults. She also provides support for children and families affected by addiction. Her groups on supporting those with family members with addictions are always highly sought out.
Melissa is also certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). ART is a very focused therapy that produces quick, effective, and safe results in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, phobias, relationship issues, grief, and many other conditions.
Melissa connects with clients through the use of a person-centered creative approach of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills, and strength-based counseling. She has experience in emotional regulation, anxiety, teaching social skills, grief, depression, traumatic brain injuries, and those struggling with addiction. Melissa has extensive group facilitation skills and enjoys the process of youth and adults growing and sharing with each other during individual or group sessions. Through her creative approach to therapy with art, play, and games she develops connections with youth and adults that bring hope and normalcy.
